Allan Trimble’s battle with ALS: Jenks football coach talks about diagnosis

Three weeks ago, Jenks Trojans football coach Allan Trimble was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

After news spread of Trimble’s diagnosis, the community responded and rallied behind the coach’s family.

As a sign of support, several of Trimble’s came together to revisit the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” which began raising awareness and money in 2014 for the ALS Association.

Over the summer, the beloved coach struggled with the decision of whether to retire, ultimately deciding “to stay at home.”

After leading the Trojans to 13 state championships during his 20 years as head coach, Trimble is now in the fight of his life.

Sports Director John Moss sat down with the iconic head coach to talk about his diagnosis and where he goes from here.
